What is Live Rosin
Introduction
Live rosin is a solventless cannabis concentrate obtained by applying heat and pressure to ice water hash (bubble hash) made from fresh frozen plant material.
Production Process
1. Harvest and Freezing
The plant is frozen immediately after harvest to preserve the trichomes and the complete terpene profile.
2. Ice Water Extraction
The frozen plant material is agitated in ice water to separate the trichomes. These are then filtered through screens of various micron sizes.
3. Drying
The resulting hash is carefully dried, typically through freeze drying (lyophilization), to remove all moisture without losing terpenes.
4. Pressing
The dried hash is pressed in a rosin press at low temperature (between 65-85°C) with controlled pressure. The result is a golden, terpene-rich concentrate.
Why It’s Special
- Solventless: No chemicals such as butane, propane, or CO2 are used
- Full spectrum: Preserves the complete cannabinoid and terpene profile
- Purity: Considered the gold standard in cannabis concentrates
- Flavor: Delivers a superior flavor experience thanks to terpene preservation
Common Consistencies
- Fresh Press: Freshly pressed, translucent and malleable texture
- Cold Cure: Cold-cured, badder or butter-like texture
- Jam: Jam-like consistency, highly terpene-rich
- Sauce: Separation of terpenes and cannabinoids, very aromatic
